Two platforms, Two faces

  You are a mystery, Wait for the right detectives

I used to chat with an online friend. We became good friends, in other words we were best online friends. He was a guy with good sense of humor and perhaps he had copyrights over sarcastic comments. One night, I was at party and fortunately, he was also there. I sensed something different in him that night. He was calm, not the person I knew. It would have made sense, if it was an official gathering. I thought, why is he behaving like this but my all efforts went in vein.

From that evening, whenever I got some free time, I used to think why people are like this? Why they behave differently on the two different platforms? Two thoughts flashed in my mind and maybe it is accurate also, or it may be redundant. You are free to give your points.

The thought that came up was that maybe, people feel more safe when they are behind the screen. They don’t need to come up with an instant reply then and there only. They get some time to think when they are behind the screen and this activity is not possible when you are face to face with someone. Second thought that came up was that, maybe people who are more active behind the screen are those peeps who think that their full identity is unknown to the other person, i.e, the other person with whom they are talking don’t know them or say, they know them to that extent only to which the people (more active behind the screen) wants them to know. So, it becomes more comfortable for the peers to cover themselves in the clothes of that personality which is not for them or which they dream of.

These online social platforms have done two things. First is that, it has given ‘voice to those who are inexpressible during face to face talks and which is good because at least those people are now able to express themselves and the second thing it has done is that it has stripped off their true nature from them’. You say, what kind of people would you like? Would you like to be friends with those peeps who are same on both the platforms or with those who have two faces on two platforms?

And to those who have two faces on two platforms, please give it a try to be your true self on both sides because then only people with whom you want to be friends will take you as their friends. If you are not able to express yourself face to face, it is absolutely fine because,believe me, people find these types of people interesting and for them you would be like a mystery and as you know people always try to solve the mystery and for that they will come to you. Now, you will ask what if they are not interested in mysteries? The answer would be that ‘Is it necessary to make friends or be with someone who is not interested in you’? Would you like to be with someone who is not at all interested in you?

If you are not able to express yourself then you are a mystery, and the right detectives will try to solve you. You don’t need to wear a mask to make yourself a straight path because that will make you a bore person and will also harm your authenticity.
